Suddenly a large force slammed into Bearclaw. An attack!
Jadepaw saw the cat ram into her mentor, and wondered if it could be who she thought it was....she wouldn't tell Silverpool and Woodstream, her siblings, if it were; Silverpool's kits were due any day, and the news that an old enemy had resurfaced might distress her.
Owlstar recognized the attacker instantly, and sprang into action.
"BURNINGEAGLE!"

Bearclaw twisted as Burningeagle tried to bite his throat. Clawing Burningeagle's
stomach, Bearclaw was still crushed by the heavy traitor. As the two fought for
survival, Owlstar attempted to tackle Burningeagle. However, Burningeagle leaped
out of the way before he could strike.
"Jadepaw! Get...Help...Now!"
Jadepaw scurried out of the MoonPit.
Owlstar, Bearclaw, and Burningeagle squared off, scratching, biting, and tackling
each other as never before.

Jadepaw raced back to camp as fast as her paws would take her. Outside the camp, a patrol was.....well.....patrolling. "HELP! BURNINGEAGLE! MOONPIT!" As the patrol raced out to the MoonPit, Jadepaw recognized Bubbleshine, Mistypelt, Foxfur, Flutterpaw, and her mentor....Woodstream; Jadepaw's brother.

OOC:// ehhh... yeah it is!
BIC:// The three cats walked around the pit. Suddenly, Burningeagle launched
himself at Owlstar. Owlstar barely had time to block before he was scratched deeply
in the shoulder by Burningeagle. In rage, Bearclaw launched himself at his former
mentor. He landed on Burningeagle's back, and bit his shoulder.
Burningeagle cried out in pain. He flipped over, and scratched Bearclaw in the
stomach.
Owlstar then pounced on Burningeagle with deadly accuracy.
The three tackled each other in turn, each wanting a piece of the other.

OOC:// Burningeagle doesn't die....yet.
BIC:// Jadepaw paced back and forth in the ShimmerClan camp. She hadn't wanted Woodstream to know about Burningeagle...Not yet...She had to get back to the MoonPit...she couldn't just sit around. However, this reminded her of a day a few moons ago...
FLASHBACK
Woodpaw raced out the camp entrance with Silverpaw. Jadepaw shouted after them; "You'll be careful, won't you?"
Silverpaw ran back to give her sister a quick lick. "Don't worry, I'll tear some PeckerClan fur to line yours and Bearclaw's nests!"
Bloodcurdling screams of "NO! NOT MY SISTER, YOU PIECE OF FOX DUNG!" echoed through the trees after what felt like moons.
Soon, Moonpoppy and Woodpaw had limped home, supporting a bloody mass of silver and white fur. "Silverpaw!"
Bearclaw had been out on the battlefield, so Jadepaw, a young apprentice at the time, had to take care of her sister with the few herbs she had. Jadepaw had been up all night tending to her patient, and soon, Silverpaw was as good as new. Bearclaw had praised her and said that she was two heroic act away from her full medicine cat name.

OOC:// Was it THAT long ago? Bearclaw can barely even remember that! (jkjk)
BIC:// Bearclaw knew that Jadepaw wasn't ready. Although she was able to
remember all of the herbs, and their functions, she needed more experience. If he died,
Jadepaw would never recieve her warrior name. He swiftly bit Burningeagle in the
leg.

Suddenly, a patrol burst into the MoonPit, Woodstream in the lead. Burningeagle swiped his claws across Bearclaw's face and disappeared into the forest.

Bearclaw was lying on the ground, his nose ripped, his ear torn, and blood, pouring from
wounds in his side.
His breaths were shallow, as if he was to join StarClan any minute.

"Nn!" Jadepaw raced over to her mentor. He didn't look too good...

BIC:// "B-bearclaw?" Jadepaw nosed him in the cheek. "HELP! SOMEBODY!" she shouted.

BIC:// Bearclaw groaned. He could sense the blood pourning out from his wounds.
He opened his eyes. His apprentice was looking right at him, her face filled with
fear. He smiled.
"I'm o-okay Jadepaw..." He muttered.
Then, everything went black.
Bearclaw opened his eyes. The sun was shining. He was in the medicine cat den.
He sat up. Jadepaw was sleeping beside him, watching over him. He smiled.

Jadepaw stirred. "Bearclaw? Do you need more cobwebs?"
Only then did Bearclaw notice...Jadepaw was looking up at him.
"Wh-what? How?"
"We needed to get your blood flowing again, so Bubbleshine, since she wasn't too badly injured in the fight, and I propped your head up by a vine hanging from the top of the den. I had to deal with all of the other injuries, so when I finished taking care of you, I started on the others. Owlstar is resting in his den, Woodstream is in the corner, and Silverpool and Foxfur have two beautiful kits," Jadepaw reported.
Bearclaw was startled. "Wow...you handled this all...on your own?"
Jadepaw grinned. "Yup. Flamekit and Quietkit are perfect!"

Quietkit..... what a name... Bearclaw thought.
"Well, thank you Jadepaw." Bearclaw said.
"You saved my life!" He added.
At that moment, he knew what he had to do.

The ritual words caught Jadepaw by surprise. "Y-yes...I do!" She meowed loudly.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your full name. Jadepaw, from this moment forth, you shall be known as Jadefeather."
