I think that it wasn't easy for Brambleclaw, but in the end he knew he had to do the right thing.

I personally think that Brambleclaw was right to kill that scheming, conniving,
extremely evil Hawkfrost. Plus, Squirrelflight seemed to forgive him. But you
are right, it probably was the hardest thing he ever had to do.

Im glad he did. If he didn't, he'd be a bloodthirsty leader by killing Firestar, so he officially proved his loyalty to his Clan by choosing his leader over his brother.

I'm glad that Brambleclaw didn't kill Firestar. I'm sure it was hard for Brambeclaw but, I'm glad he got rid of that evil, scheming cat. At least they were in different clans.

Of course it was torture, but imagine the torture Brambleclaw would go through if he had chosen to kill Firestar. Even though he'd have made the decision himself, he would never be able to live with himself. His life would be ruined, and therefore he'd be a terrible leader.
