A Story by Rainwhisper
"Is she alright?"
"I don't know Ragestar, she may not survive."
"Well, if she doesn't, it's a waste of arguing from the clan."
"SkyClan isn't always the kindest Clan you know."
"Well, you know best Mintwind."
"Look, she's awakening!"
My eyes opened, little by little. I was surprised to see two wild cats looming
over me. I jumped up in surprise.
One of the cats, a wise, silver-brown female, spoke.
"Looks like she has your jumping power."
"You don't say..."
The other cat was a Golden-Colored cat with a white belly.
Who were they?
"What is your name, little one?" The wise one asked.
"My name is...is....is?"
My mind drew a blank. I started to panic.
Who am I?

Chapter Two:
The Wise One seemed to notice that I was having difficulty,
after all, I was sputtering and stammering like I had just eaten yarrow.
"I think that she has catnesia."
Ragestar looked disappointed. I could sense sadness radiating from his
pelt. He suddenly looked at me.
"Mintwind, maybe she needs a bite to eat, maybe a vole, or mouse, or
something?"
"Right, Right, sorry! Come dear, follow me."
She led me to a pile of freshly killed carcasses.
"Umm... Okay..."
I felt a small wave of nausea overcome me. I opened my mouth, and
dropped a mouse's corpse into my jaw.
It was delicious. I could taste flavor! It was wonderful.
Mintwind seemed to notice that I was enjoying myself.
"Take your time, it's alright."
Meanwhile, I was sensing some other cats approaching. They approached
me with suspicious looks, eying one another as if I was a joke.
Just then, a tom, his pelt was a black that I had only seen in the night sky.
His face was filled with fury.
"What in StarClan is she doing here!"
______________________________________________________________________
Chapter 3
The tom stalked toward me, his claws unsheathed, ready to rip my
throat out. I was confused. What had I done to make him so angry?
Or miserable? I saw that his eyes were glistening with tears.
He tensed, ready to strike.
Cats all around me were yowling,
"Burningheart! Stop this madness at once!"
"Yeah, Burningheart! Rip her throat out!"
"Burningheart! Be careful!"
He pounced. I saw my life flash before my eyes.
He was about to scratch my eye out, when,
"Oomph!"
Ragestar pinned him to the ground.
"That's enough Burningheart. Everyone, go back to your dens."
The crowd mumbled. A few spat insults about Ragestar, but
gradually, everyone left.

(Chapter...which chapter is it? Oh yeah! Chapter 4 )
I wondered what I had done to anger him.
Did I do something wrong just by having my presence
within his personal space? Oh, NO!
The leader-person seemed to notice that I was really worried.
After all, my fur on my skinny, striped-grey pelt was shaking
like leaf-bare's dead leaves, rustling on the ground.
"How about you get some rest?" He kindly asked me.
He led me to the den that smelled of freshly harvested herbs.
I felt myself falling onto moss that was so soft, I let out a sigh of relief.
"Sweet Dreams"

See no evil Hear no evil Speak no evil - Chapter 5
A clouded vision filled my eyes.
Thoughts racing
Screaming
Crying
I saw my damp feet running as fast as they could carry me.
I felt the ground disappear.
Falling.
I'm going to die now, I thought.
But for some reason, I was peaceful.
And then, I heard it.
A mystical voice, saying:
When he who was once loved, is loved again,
All will fall into chaos.
I felt darkness surround me.
The crushing fall, breaking my bones.
Silent
Still
Death.
______________________________________________________________
Chapter 6! ;D ;D ;D
I was suddenly shoved.
"Goodness gracious, you scream really loud!"
Mintwind looked extremely tired.
And annoyed.
"I'm sorry." I squeaked.
Mintwind turned toward me.
"Oh, it's alright dear. Besides, I need to
work on sorting my herbs. Would you like to help?"
Sorting is a mindless task, which is good, because I can't remember
anything. However, it was odd that I knew what all of the plants were.
"So, where am I?" I asked Mintwind.
She turned to me, and started to speak,
"This is the camp of Sky Clan. We have amazing jumping skills,
and this is why we live in these caves. We can jump to them.
I know that you can. I've seen you jump. You almost hit your
head on the ceiling!"
I looked at her, amazed.
She continued,
"Ever since young Firestar, and his mate, Sandstorm of
Thunder Clan came, we have thrived. Ragestar
is our 10thleader. And I am the 20th medicine cat."
I was astounded.
"When we found you, you had many broken bones. We could fix that,
but you were in a coma for month-I mean moons. We were beginning to think that you
might never wake up."
"Umm..." I started.
Her sharp eyes looked at me,
"Yes?"
"Why was that cat, Burningheart, mad at me?"
She pondered the question.
"Well I don't know. He was originally
from River Clan, the clan that likes to swim,
heaven knows why, so we don't know much
about him, and our clan doesn't welcome newcomers
warmly."
I sat, sorting marigolds from poppy seeds, wondering...
How can I get the clan to trust me?
_____________________________________________________________
OMG! It's the 7th Chapter!
It's been a moon since I've been in Sky Clan. No matter what I
do, like pick the elder's tics off, change the moss, find lots,
and lots of mice, the clan still despises me. Except for
Gingerkit, who follows me around like I'm a mother duck.
"So, what did it feel like to have a mouse for the first time?"
"Hey, when are you going to bed?"
"Can I help you?"
"PLEEEEAAAASSSEEE?"
Oy Vey.
Today, Gingerkit wasn't following me. Weird, I thought. I strolled
(or rather, leaped)to the nursery, to find his mother,
Snowdrop, bouncing, and I mean BOUNCING, all over the place.
"Where in Star Clan is Gingerkit!"
I ran out of the nursery, trying to find his scent. Suddenly,
something strange happened. It was like something was pushing me,
but I was flying out of the camp.
And toward the river.
I looked for his small, orange little head. There! He was clinging
onto a rock, mewing for help. I quickly jumped in to save him.
The water felt freezing against my fur. I wanted to jump out like
crazy. But I had to save Gingerkit. I grabbed him by the scruff
of his neck, and swam back to shore.
"Gingerkit, can you hear me?"
His eyes were closed, his heart faintly beating.
Would he survive?
_____________________________________________________________________
;D Chapter 8 ;D
"Is he alright?"
Mintwind smiled at me warmly.
"Yes, he's already complaining of hunger. He'll be fine."
This act of courage had made everyone thankful. Nowadays, I even
got constant greeting, and praise.
Just then, Ragestar's voice echoed through the cave walls.
"All cats old enough to hunt for food, meet at the stepping stone."
A crowd had already gathered.
Ragestar looked at me.
"You, my catnesic friend, has saved a life. We in turn would like to help you.
Would you like to join our clan?"
______________________________________________________________
:oChapter Nine (post poll #1)
I was shocked. Join SkyClan!
"Y-yyess!" I stammered.
Ragestar looked at me calmly. Then I shall continue.
He exclaimed this speech with determination.
"I, Ragestar, leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down
on this cat. She has shown true compassion and determination, and I
commend her to you as a warrior in her turn." He gazed at me.
"Will you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend
this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
I looked at him, with the whole of StarClan in my eyes
"I do"
He smiled, or at least, smiled how at cat does.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name.
From this moment on, you will be known as Shining-River. StarClan
honors your bravery and your strength, and we welcome you as a full
warrior of SkyClan."
He stepped forward and rested his muzzle on top of my head.
"You're supossed to bow your head." He whispered.
"Oh!" I quickly did so.
He looked at me, and said,
"I am proud to have you as a warrior Shining-River. May you serve your
clan well."
All around me, I heard chanting.
"Shining-River! Shining-River!"
I was overwhelmed with joy. Finally, I had been accepted by the ones
who had, just one moon ago, shunned me. I still gotta find out why...

:PChapter 10
I was bored.
Yep, bored.
Bored out of my pelt.
Having to sit vigil is harder than I expected.
And it looked hard to begin with.
As I watched the peacefulness of the camp, my eyes were wide awake,
ready to spot a danger lurking in the shadows.
I doubted that something would happed.
Just as I was about to wonder if Gingerkit was always that chatty,
something weird happened.
I was suddenly sitting on a cliff, overlooking a camp.
Many cats were walking in the thick forest.
I could smell a lake nearby.
I suddenly saw something that shocked me.
It was me! Yes, me, sneaking out of the camp.
I followed myself, staking her, or should I say my,
every move. I saw her stop. She seemed to be waiting
for something.
Or someone.
The vision cleared. The camp was still as dark, and as cool as
ever. But I was comfused.
What in StarClan is happening?
___________________________________________
;D :DChapter 11 ;D
When it was lighter, I saw the Dawn Patrol leave the cave.
Ragestar came over to me, and relieved me of my vigil.
I walked into the warriors den, and bumped into someone.
"Watch it!"
I looked up to see Burningheart glaring at me.
His eyes were burning with hatred.
This was the last straw.
I stalked up to him.
"Look, I don't know what you have against me, or
why you want to act like a dunghead all the time,
but I've had enough. If you don't stop, I'll claw your eyes out!"
He looked startled. I hadn't known that a cat could looked so...
sad...
He stalked out very quickly.
I watched him leave with a tear in my eye.
And I had no idea why.

8-)Have fun! - Chapter 12
I woke up around Sunhigh.
Well... rather I was awoken by being jumped on by Gingerkit.
"Hey Shining-River! Wat'cha gonna do today? Maybe you can
go hunting. Or, maybe we can swim!!!"
I groaned. But, Ragestar came in.
"Shining-River, I'd like you to follow me into my den. I need
to speak to you and Mintwind."
Gingerkit was whining while I was leaving.
"Awwwww.... Why can't I come? Can I come?
Pleeeeeaaassseee?"
Ragestar had a look of annoyance on his face.
"Gingerkit, this is a private meeting. Why don't you
play with Rosekit?
"Because, she doesn't know any good games."
I butted into the conversation.
"Gingerkit, why don't you help Snowdrop with your sisters?"
Gingerkit ran off without another word.
As we entered the den, I saw Mintwind.
Ragestar spoke before I could say hecko.
"Shining-River, I was wondering if you could fulfill a certain
duty in the clan."
"What is it?" I asked.
Mintwind spoke: "We'd like you to become my medicine
cat...um...apprentice. After all, there aren't any
apprentices, and you seem handy with herbs. So, would you
like to?"
I could barely hold in my excitement as I answered.
"Wow! Um...Yes, thank you!"
Ragestar smiled.
"Well, it's settled. Shining-River, you will sleep in
Mintwind's den from now on."
I smiled. I was going to be able to help cats in a wonderful way!
_________________________________________
Run For Your Lives! It's Chapter 13!!!
I dabbed some moss onto Mintwind's back. I heard her release a
sigh of relief.
Gross.
I squished the tick with my claw, and flung it out of the den.
"Hey, Mintwind?"
Her wise eyes locked onto my face.
"Yes?"
I think that we ran out of marigold. I'll fetch some more."
I bounced out of the den, happy to move my legs. I saw
Gingerpaw, being recently apprenticed, training with Ragestar.
Gingerpaw was very lucky to be taught by him. I giggled as Gingerpaw
tried to pounce on Ragestar.
He missed by a cat's tail-length.
Just then, I smelled something. The scent burned my throat, and
made my eyes sting.
I rushed out of camp.
Others, like Snowdrop and Frozeneye, followed me,
also smelling the scent.
We turned the corner, and gasped.
The trees were on fire!
___________________________________________________
:-*Kissy-Kissy, Chapter 14 wants a big hug!
I was frozen.
The trees were enveloped in bright orange flame. But one of them
was falling. As if it was in slow-motion, I saw the tree, wobble.
Then, it started to fall.
Towards me.
I knew I was a goner. I braced myself for impact.
Just then, I heard a yell.
"Shining-River you mouse-brain! Look out!"
I was pushed out of the way. I turned to see,
Burningheart.
As others fled the scene, I only saw Burningheart, staring into my
eyes, with...
Wait... was that some sort of affection in his eyes?
Before I could ponder this any longer, Burningheart dragged me by the
tail, back towards camp.
I regained the ability to run as I had to gather all of the herbs.
The Clan watched as flames covered the trees.
I was huddled with my friends,
Tapecat, Echopool, and Bluefur.
"Gosh, this looks so bad." Bluefur whispered.
We saw loners fleeing the area. I noticed a loner friend of mine,
imnotacat, and another, pinkabelle talking with Ragestar.
Later, when the fire had died out, Ragestar sent two warriors,
Rainwhisper and Cheesicle, out to investigate.
They returned with a twoleg fire making stick (match).
"Curse those clumsy, dirty, no-good for nothing twolegs!"
Ragestar roared. His golden-fur shaking like crazy.
Me, I was mortified.
___________________________________________________
Chapter 15 ;D
I picked up lots of moss, partly burnt.
It tastes like something bad...
When I looked outside, I saw that the Clan was gathered
at the base of the rock. Ragestar was speaking so loudly, I
could hear it from here.
"Everyone, meet imnotacat, and pinkabelle. They are going to
live with us for a while because their home was destroyed in the
fire. Their friends are staying too."
The clan groaned. I noticed that they were acting the same
way that they were acting to me.
This Clan is acting pathetic! I thought.
_______________________________________________
Chapter 16
I was confused.
Ever since the fire, Burningheart has been a lot nicer to me. Does
he like me? Or is he worried about me? Or is he a crazy catnip high
backstabbing two-face jerky boy tom (male cat)?
Even worse, I've started to like him!
No-no-no, not in the way you're thinking! I mean as a friend.
I've even been teasing him, and he's just laughing! Bluefur keeps
teasing us about being a happy couple, but then we chase her
around the camp.
It's really funny.
You know what's strange? Ragestar doesn't have kits, or a life-long
friend to love. I feel sad for him.
So anyway, today Mintwind was having me train to fight. I was
really nervous, but I wasn't half-bad. Burningheart called me a
discrace to all cats of the wild, but I just nipped him on the ear and
called it a day.
Yep, good times.
Now, I was in my mossy sleeping den. It was so cozy.
Soon, I was out cold.
Not like a fainting cold though, I mean a sleepy out-cold.
I awoke to seeing a starry-pelted cat sitting in front of me.
I blinked in surprise.
She smiled.
"Do not worry." She said.
"My name is Poppyfur. I was the medicine-cat before Mintwind.
I'm here to help you on your journey."
"Journey?" I asked suspiciously.
"As in a spiritual learning to love and support your clan journey."
She stated.
"Riiight..." I was sleepy from having been woken up.
She laughed.
I turned to Mintwind.
She was still snoring.
I turned to Poppyfur, who beckoned me to follow her.
"Come," She said.
I followed her.
____________________________________________________
Chapter 17
Poppyfur led me out of camp, towards the river.
"Warn the Clan not to drink the water. Look"
She pointed upstreatm.
I looked.
Twolegs were dumping their waste into the river!
I was shocked. If a cat had drank that, they would
probably get extremely sick, and might die!
I turned towards Poppyfur to thank her, but she was gone.
In her place was an odd cat.
Why do I say odd?
He was hot pink.
He spoke, and his words chilled me.
When he who was once loved, is loved again,
All will fall into chaos.
What do those words mean? Who was once loved? And why is
this odd cat telling me this?
And why in the world is he hot pink?
____________________________________________________
Chapter 18
I woke up with a startle.
After notifying Ragestar about the funky water, I went down
to eat. While eating, I overheard Tapecat and Brooktide
gossiping.
"What ever happened to Wildflower?"
"I don't know what happened to her. One day she was here,
the next, she was gone."
Who was Wildflower?
Just then, I noticed a cat stumble into camp.
He didn't look like any cat I had ever seen before.
I think that he was a rouge.
My suspicions were confirmed when cats all around me jumped
up and snarled.
The cat's knees were shaking.
Then, he collapsed.
As the clan yowled in surpirse, I jumped up, grabbed him by
the scruff of the neck, and dragged him to the medicine cat's
den.
"Mintwind! Help me please!"
____________________________________________________
Chatper 19
"I am really sorry if I caused you any trouble Shining-River."
I smiled.
"Oh, no problem. You were almost in StarClan, I had to help."
I answered.
He looked surprised.
"Huh?" I asked.
"Oh, I'm sorry. You just...remind me of a cat I knew a while ago."
His eyes seemed to be in a different place,
A different time...
"Well, it doesn't really matter." he stammered.
"Do you want me to get you some fresh-kill?"
"Oh, I can get it myself, thank you Shining-River."
He walked out of the den.
His copper-pelt glistened in the sunlight.
As I watched, Burningheart walked next to me.
"Hey." he said. 'Hi! How are you? I haven't seen you in a
long time!" I answered.
I should really get one of those two-leg muzzles.
"Want to eat some fresh-kill?" he asked.
"S-sure." I stammered.
As I followed him, I saw Ragestar walking towards me.
He was smiling.
Why would he be smiling at me? Of all people?
Burningheart looked at Ragestar.
"Hey, do you want to eat with us?"
And so, this was how I ended up having lunch with
Burningheart, Ragestar, and the copper-pelt cat.
Help!
____________________________________________________
[glow=red,2,300]OMG! It's Chapter 20![/glow]
There was an awkward silence.
Yeah... It was odd.
"So, where did you come from? What's your name?" Ragestar
asked.
"Well, my name is Eagleclaw, and I hail from the clan known
as PantherClan. I tried to visit my good friend, Ravenpaw, near
the forest, but I got lost on the way." Eagleclaw replied while
gracefully swallowing a mouse whole.
Facinating.
Burningheart looked very uncomfortable.
"Umm... So, what does PantherClan do?" he asked.
"We're good at stealth."
"Stealth?"
"Stealth."
I didn't think that this was going very well.
Just then, Mintwind came and dragged me into the medicine cat
den.
"I need you to help me take out Gingerpaw's thorn and you need
to gather some poppy seeds. Lavendertail can't sleep, and also
you need to get some yarrow, marigold and mint because we're
running out, and tomorrow we're going to the MoonCave, so you need to get some nourishment and sleep, and make sure to
see if Ravagepaw, or Sunpaw will go herb gathering with you
because they are the only apprentices that I trust not to eat
the herbs that they find."
She winked at me and said, "now hurry up!" She stalked off.
Phew, thanks Mintwind. Now I just have to remember all of that.

Chapter 21
I was out like a log tonight.
But then, I saw that hot-pink cat before my eyes.
"Hello." he whisperered.
"Who-who are you?" I asked, with awe in my eye.
'I am Gleamingeye, the knower of all tales, one of StarClan's
oldest resident. I am one of the first cats to pass on. Ever.
"Um... Gleamingeye?"
"Yes?" he responded.
"Why are you hot-pink?"
His eyes showed laughter and wisdom.
"Before other cats were born, there were many wars.
During that time, I was pure white. My shining pelt made me
vain, and proud. In the Great Battle, there were so many
dead cats, that they died the river red. I fell in that water,
being pushed in by Rapidflame, of RiverClan. I drowned, and
the red water died my pelt pink."
Before I could ponder that, he went on.
"You have been chosen to have a path like no cat before you.
Although it seems like fate will never evade you, you have a
choice. In fact, you have many choices ahead of you. Choose
wisely."
As he left, the chilling words that I had heard before rose from
the ground,
When he who was once loved, is loved again,
All will fall into chaos.

Chapter 22
I awoke before the sun rose. Or rather, I was prodded awake
by Mintwind.
"Get up Shining-River! We're going to the mooncave today."
I followed her, my eyes still groggy, to the mooncave.
Petalfeather's kits, Blossomkit, Sagekit, and Freshkit,
watched us, wide-eyed, walk into the cavern.
I heard a glorious array of humming and murmuring.
Mintwind, beckoning me to follow. pressed her nose against
the floor.
As soon as my nose touched the rock, my senses faded.
I was surrounded by darkness. Coldness flooded through
my body, every heartbeat made a wave of ice throughout
my pelt.
Suddenly, I was in a grassy clearing. And there, standing
beside me, was Gleamingeye and Poppyfur. There was
also another cat. She was a blue-grey color, and she too,
had the sparkle in her fur like all other members of StarClan.
"Greetings." she said. "I am Bluestar, of ThunderClan, and
you, ShiningRiver, are a very special cat.
"Umm... thank you!" I stammered, awed that she thought
that I was special.
"You came into SkyClan with no memory. Even though you
have gained little back, you still face each day with a smile
on you face. How could you be so bold, so kind, so... wonderful,
when you don't know who you are?"
She seemed to be in thought. Poppyfur and Gleamingeye
were smiling at me. They mouthed "hello!" I waved my tail
in greeting.
Bluestar continued. "StarClan knows that you have a
task ahead of you. Prophesies don't appear out of thin air,
you know." With a twinkle in her eye, she smiled.
"Which is why I think that you need to know the truth. You
need all the knowledge you can t-"
Suddenly, Mintwind landed on me. "Oh!" She said.
"Am I in ShiningRiver's dream?" she sounded amazed, and
worried that I had fractured my back. Bluestar looked
annoyed, Poppyfur looked frazzled, and Gleamingeye was
looking upwards, where Mintwind had fallen from.
"We do not have a lot of time." he stated.
"Anyway," Bluestar grumbled
"I shall give you your memory back, so you can help the
Clan the best you can. You can refuse if you want, but
eventually, you need to get your memory back. So, do you
want it now?"
Recieve my forgotten memory? Should I? Or would nothing
but heartache and hurt erupt from it?
What should I do?
____________________________________________
Chapter 23 (post pol #2)
Author's Note: Well, since NOBODY voted in my poll, I'm choosing
the outcome myself! HA! (end of note)
Shining-River thought for a moment.
If she regained her memory, she might have an idea of who she
was before the accident.
But if she didn't, she could start anew.
She could forget her past, and move onwards.
(sorry, forgot that it was from her point of view)
I opened my mouth to speak.
"I...would like to have my memory back."
Images flooded before my eyes.
A dusty-brown cat, me, trodding along a pathway.
My name was Light-Who-Strikes-Darkness
And I was from the Tribe of Waning Shadows.
I remembered a cat. He was stumbling into the cave in which
the Tribe lived. He looked familliar.
His pelt. Black as the night sky.
Burningheart! I thought.
I saw him collapse onto the ground.
I saw me rush up to him.
Cats from all over lifted him up, and carried me away.
The vision changed.
Burningeagle and I, our tails entiwned. A look of happiness and
fear in our eyes.
Just then, a big tom appeared.
He was our leader.
Wind-that-Seeks-Shelter.
Burningeagle and I were running.
We were nearing a cliff.
It was narrow enough to jump across.
We stopped, staring downward.
The tribe approached.
It was against the rules for one of the tribe to love an outsider.
I saw Burningeagle run away.
He had ran away for my own good.
I saw me, eyes weeping. Thinking of the only one I would ever
love.
I watched as I pounced into the ravine.
I saw my body falling into the river below.
The tribe watched as my body floated down the river.
They did not care.
I was nothing.
___________________________________________________
Chapter 24 (does ANYBODY read this anymore?)
The vision cleared.
I awoke in the mooncave. Mintwind was staring at me.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"Uhh.... I don't really know. But you look different. More
understanding." She kept staring at me.
"Well, I do know who I was before.... I-"
Mintwind shrieked a joy of delight.
"Thank StarClan for this wonderful gift!" She smiled.
Then, the both of us, walking out like elders sharing tounges,
emerged from the Mooncave.
I quickly ran towards the Warrior's Den. My heart was full of
joy.
As soon as I entered, Burningheart turned. His eyes lit up.
"Hey Shining-River, what's up?"
My reply sent shivers down his spine.
"I got my memory back. I kn-"
Before I could finish my sentence, Burningheart put his tail
over my mouth.
It's very furry.
"Shh." He whispered. Swiftly and quietly, we slipped out of
camp, and underneath a tree bearing many flowers.
I heard that twolegs call them "cherry blossom trees".
We smiled, our eyes locked, staring at each other. Our tails
entwined together.
A perfect moment.
But then, a cat emerged from the shadow of the tree.
It was Gleamingeye.
He was translucent, I could see right through him.
Burningheart saw him too. The look of awe and surprise startled
me.
Gleamingeye quickly spoke.
"You have not much time. The tribe is coming."
And he quickly faded away.
But his voice remained.
"I warned you.....
When he who was once loved, is loved again,
ALL WILL FALL INTO CHAOS........."
__________________________________________________
Chapter 25 (It's almost over!)
Why?
Why would the tribe come here?
Suddenly, I remembered why.
It was leaf-bare. The tribe walked along the broken pathway.
Trees covered many parts of the two-leg trail. We were runnning
away. We always did. Every leaf-bare, two-legs would come.
Sliding down the mountain we called home. Their wooden poles
slipping on the ground. Snow, everywhere, piled into the dens.
There was no hope. We'd have to leave, and return in the
spring.
"Ack! It's leaf-bare!"
Quickly, Burningheart and I rushed into the camp.
Before we could do anything, Mintwind appeared.
"Shining-River, come here for a second."
She led me into the medicine cat's den.
"Now, I know that you like Burningheart."
I tried to protest, but she put her tail over my mouth.
Let me tell you, it's as fluffy as Burningheart's.
It's also much dirtier.
"I know that all you want to do is be with Burningheart, but you're
a medicine cat now. You can't love him without betraying StarClan.
I'm sorry Shining-River, but I can't allow this."
She quickly walked deeper into the den, with a tear in her eye.
I watched as she walked away.
It was true.
Chaos was erupting.

Chapter 26
"Ragestar, Burningheart and I have to tell you something."
Ragestar turned around, a look of curiosity on his face.
"What's wrong Shining-River?"
So, I told him how I regained my memory, and the danger
that was about to come.
"That is true, every leaf-bare, a big clan of cats come and
stay for a day or two. So that's where you were from?"
"Yeah."
"Oh. well, do you think that we should hide you
or something?"
"No, I need to face the tribe on my own. When they arrive,
you should get the queens and kits, and apprentices out
of the way. Maybe you should take them to WhisperClan
or something, they've always helped you, right?"
"Yep." Burningeagle answered.
"Well, Burningeagle, can you train me in combat?
I've haven't learned many tactics."
"Sure."
He smiled, as only a cat could do.
We quickly exited the den, ready to face the most
dangerous threat of all.

Chapter 27
The clan watched the sun rise.
Today, was the day,
The day where all our training would finally be put to the test,
the day, when the Tribe of Waning Shadows were to come, and attempt
to destroy us all.
They came.
One by one, black silhouettes in the golden sunlight, they marched down
the rugged twoleg pathway, covered in broken wood and poison ivy that
reached up to a twoleg's ankle.
We could almost hear the fighting that was due to erupt.
Wind-that-Seeks-Shelter appeared first. Big, muscular, and deadly.
Many cats that dared to face him today would depart to StarClan in an
instant.
We were not ready! I worried.
What if we all perished?
What would happen to the queens, elders, and kits? Who knew what
terrible dangers they would face if all of the warriors died in this battle!
What would happen to us? Would there be any of us left? Who among
us would join StarClan tonight?
Would it be Ragestar, his gleaming pelt, shining in the sunlight, or
maybe Mintwind, her wise eyes would shine no more if she was struck
with a hard enough blow. My newfound clanmates, like Ivystream,
Flutterwish, Thornlash, and Gingerflame, the cute kit, who had grown
up before my eyes. And Burningheart. My lost love, Burningheart. We
had grown so close since those few days ago. Eating together, playing
together, laughing together.
How was I going to live without him? Big, warm tears swelled up in
my eyes, but were quickly wiped away by Burningeagle's tail, who quickly
smiled at her, before turning to the approaching warriors.
Before I could become paralyzed with more scary thoughts,
Wind-that-Seeks-Shelter spoke.
"Light-Who-Strikes-Darkness, you have been labeled dead, by the Tribe
of Waning Shadows. Now, you must die!"
He quickly leaped at me, ready to bite my neck. However, he was quickly
cut off by Grasswing, who sparred against him for a few seconds, before
being thrown into a tree trunk with as much force as a beaver.
The battle had begun.

Chapter 28
Cats swarmed into the clearing like bees buzzing into their hive. Many
cats, fighting, biting, clawing. I was approached by a cat. She was
a skinny, black and brown, tabby. And I knew her name. And she knew
mine.
In fact, we were sisters.
I stared at her, quickly brushed her aside, and whispered:
"If you care enough for me, you will not try to kill me."
she looked at me, sadness in her eyes.
"Maybe not, but I must hurt you so you can't fight back!"
We sprung at each other, fighting tooth to tooth, claw to claw. A long
battle between us emerged.
After what seemed like eternity, my sister finally fell to the ground,
bleeding heavily from her wounds. thinking quickly, I dragged her to
the edge of the clearing, where Gingerflame was waiting to take hostage
cats.
Before I turned to go, he stopped me.
"Shining-River, you are one of the best friends I have ever had. Be careful."
I smiled at him, and returned to the fighting. Out of the corner of my
eye, I spotted Ragestar fighting Wind-That-Seeks Shelter. They seemed
to be having a fair fight, except for the cats who tried to tackle one as they
sparred. They were quickly disposed of.
The grass was dyed red from all of the blood. I saw wounded cats,
everywhere, fighting to survive.
I suddenly spotted a lost kit, wandering amongst the dead, looking for his
mother. I quickly picked him up by the scruff of his neck. He wailed,
saying, "you're not my mother! Let go!"
"Sweetheart, I'm saving your life, so shut up, or I'll hand you over to one
of those warriors over there." I muttered, pointing to the muscular cats who were quickly wounding many tribe cats.
He yelped, and practically ran into Gingerflame, who carried him to the
Medicine Cat's den.
I heard a yelp of relief.
"Flying-Crane-Beneath-the-Clouds!"
I had no idea that that kit was my nephew.
Go figure.
As I turned to jump back into the swarm, I was pummeled to the ground.
I looked up to see who my attacker was.
However, I was mistaken. For, the cat who tackled me wasn't trying to kill
me.
It was Burningheart, pushing me out of the way of Wind-that-Seeks-Shelter.
Burningheart was quickly caught in Wind-That-Seks-Shelter's thick,
sharp, grasp.
He let out a yell as the tribe leader continued to bite his shoulder.
"So, you think you're a tough cat, huh, well, I'll tell you whether you're
tough or not!"
the leader dragged Burningheart near the steep cliff overlooking the
valley.
He was going to throw Burningheart off it.
And our love would be lost forever.
__________________________________________________
Chapter 29 We're almost there folks!
"No! " I shrieked. I sprinted towards my former leader, the one who I
had loathed since I was born. It was Wind-that-Seeks-Shelter, who used
to tackle me as a kit. He was the one who had always tried to make me
look bad. And he, was the one, who was trying to kill the one I loved.
This was going to stop.
Now.
With as much force that I could gather from within, me, I tackled my foe.
He let go of Burningheart, who lay, gasping at the cliff's edge.
I scratched Wind-that-Seeks-Shelter's belly.
He let out a roar of pain.
We landed on the ground. Staring at each other as we fought, pure
hatred on our faces
Burningheart had taught me well. His odd, yet clever tactics, from his
original Clan, RiverClan, was useful against this large cat.
I pummeled him with all of my strength.
He re-acted, by biting me in the leg.
I shrieked in pain, and crumpled to the ground.
He cackled. This, is even better!" He cried.
"Now, I can get rid of you two at the same time!" He grabbed
Burningheart by the neck, and was about to throw us over the edge.
I knew that it was our time to join StarClan. He was about to let go.
I felt myself fall.
All of my memories flashed before my eyes.
Right before I hit the ground, 1 foot from where I fell.
I looked up, and saw an amazing sight.
It was Mintwind. She had tackled Wind-that-Seeks-Shelter, and she was
evenly matched with him. Blow for blow, scratch for scratch. This would
be a battle of stamina.
But I knew that Mintwind couldn't last.
She was going to have to do something unthinkable to defeat him.
And, she did.
the moment she leaped at him, was a memory that I would remember
forever.
She tackled him. He neared the edge.
And they both fell over the cliff.
I ran to the edge.
"MINTWIND!" I screamed.
there was silence.
Wind-that-Seeks-Shelter was gone.
But, so was Mintwind.

Epilouge/Chapter 30
Author's Note: Hey guys! I'd like to thank all of the people that made
SkyClan: The New Generation possible. First, I'd like to thank Frozeneye,
for creating this site. I would also like to thank the people who took time
to read this *cough* no one *cough* (jkjk) . I may create another
short (long) story, but i'd have to think of something, which, you know,
isn't really my strong point (ha ha). Now, some (most) of you will think,
"Why the heck is Rainwhisper making a speech like he won a Grammy
or something?" Well, the truth is because Rainwhisper wants to.
Now I hope you will enjoy the epilouge of this story. Bye!

*END OF AUTHOR'S NOTE! YOU CAN READ THIS STORY NOW!*
I watched, as the whole clan sat vigil for the lost ones.
So many deaths had occured.
Ambereyes, Scarletfang, Tawnyfeather, Grasswing, Brightpelt,
Ripplewave, our deputy, Cloudbreaker, and of course, Mintwind.
The land was filled with cries of mourners, wishing that their loved ones
hadn't joined StarClan so soon.
Rosepaw had been fatally wounded, and had died around sun-high.
Her mother, Leafheart, filled with grief for her lost kit, had jumped off the
cliff to her doom.
A tribe warrior had found where the queens, elders, and kits were hiding.
We lost Brownkit, and Yellowkit right before vigil. Their legs
had been ripped to shreds. Their remaining sister, Applekit, refused to go
to sleep. Instead, she insisted on helping me with the wounded, not wanting anymore cats to meet the same fate as her siblings. Now, her
mother, Livingspirits, who was now taking care of Leafheart's newly
born kits, and Applekit were ravely standing vigil for their family.
I sighed. It was going to be hard in SkyClan for now on.
We had lost a deputy, and a medicine cat.
We lost 1 apprentice, 2 kits, and a queen
Nesthatcher, the oldest female in the clan, had died due to exposure to
the cold.
6 Warriors had departed heading for StarClan.
13 cats, now removed from our lives. Yet, there was still hope.
Ragestar, after losing a life, had sworn in the new deputy.
Gingerflame, after being appointed deputy, quickly showed his leadership
skills by helping many cats with their mourning.
I smiled, the thought of a Gingerstar lurking in my mind. He would be a
fine leader.
I was pretty sure that Applekit, if she continued to want to help cats,
could be a great medicine cat apprentice.
And, I still had Burningheart. Although, we would never be able to be
totally together, our fates separated by StarClan, we would still care
for each other like no other. We were almost like mates, but not quite.
My heart was filled with grief and happiness.
And if there is happiness,
There is still hope.
The End.
Who am I?
______________________________________________________________
Chapter Two:
The Wise One seemed to notice that I was having difficulty,
after all, I was sputtering and stammering like I had just eaten yarrow.
"I think that she has catnesia."
Ragestar looked disappointed. I could sense sadness radiating from his
pelt. He suddenly looked at me.
"Mintwind, maybe she needs a bite to eat, maybe a vole, or mouse, or
something?"
"Right, Right, sorry! Come dear, follow me."
She led me to a pile of freshly killed carcasses.
"Umm... Okay..."
I felt a small wave of nausea overcome me. I opened my mouth, and
dropped a mouse's corpse into my jaw.
It was delicious. I could taste flavor! It was wonderful.
Mintwind seemed to notice that I was enjoying myself.
"Take your time, it's alright."
Meanwhile, I was sensing some other cats approaching. They approached
me with suspicious looks, eying one another as if I was a joke.
Just then, a tom, his pelt was a black that I had only seen in the night sky.
His face was filled with fury.
"What in StarClan is she doing here!"
______________________________________________________________________
Chapter 3
The tom stalked toward me, his claws unsheathed, ready to rip my
throat out. I was confused. What had I done to make him so angry?
Or miserable? I saw that his eyes were glistening with tears.
He tensed, ready to strike.
Cats all around me were yowling,
"Burningheart! Stop this madness at once!"
"Yeah, Burningheart! Rip her throat out!"
"Burningheart! Be careful!"
He pounced. I saw my life flash before my eyes.
He was about to scratch my eye out, when,
"Oomph!"
Ragestar pinned him to the ground.
"That's enough Burningheart. Everyone, go back to your dens."
The crowd mumbled. A few spat insults about Ragestar, but
gradually, everyone left.
______________________________________________________

___________________________________________

Help!

[glow=red,2,300]OMG! It's Chapter 20![/glow]

The End.
