Author's Note: Hi guys. This is a prequel to
SkyClan: The New Generation. I thought that the story was
missing something, so I am adding this. Yeah... Maybe, it'll be
a trilogy or something. Who knows?

The Tribe-of-Waning-Darkness is a different clan than the tribe
that you have read about in Erin Hunter's books. Their customs
are a little bit different, but they are similar.

Instead of making one VERY long post, I'm going to just reply
to add a chapter (or two).

Leader(s):
Leaders of the clan organize patrols, separate the fresh-kill, and
comforts the cats in mourning. There is usually 1 male and
1 female leader. They are not necessarily mates

~ Rose-That-Floats-On-Water - female
A deep-red cat with deep, fern green eyes. She is a very
smart, honest cat. However, many cats are unsure if she is
fit to be a leader due to the fact that she seems to almost...
disappear at night.

Mate of Leap-that-Seems-to-Fly

~ Ground-Beneath-the-Waters - male
A tom with a pelt the color of a smooth, brown stone. His eyes
are a golden-brown. He has a tough, never say never, play by
the rules attitude. He will not allow anyone breaking even the
most tiny rule, unless it is for a moral reason. His defense tactics
have helped the tribe keep their territory, and scare away rouges.

Mentoring Pre-fighter "Hard"

Notes:
Notes wake up before dawn, every morning. At sunrise, they
sing the six notes of the sun's rays (tells everyone to wake up)
and then rush out into the forest to gather herbs and berries
for food, and for the Healer. There is, at the most, two
notes, but that has only happened once. The notes can be any
age or gender. After many moons, they recieve a Pre-Note to
teach the notes to.

~ Fern-That-Whispers-In-the-Wind - female
A dusty-brown cat with silver eyes. Although she is only
the age of a Pre-Fighter/Gatherer/Hunter/Healer, she has
recieved her full name since she is a Note. She is a timid, kind,
generous cat who is always willing to help others, but just
doesn't know how to.

Not a Mentor at this time

Healer:
Healers have the important role of (you guessed it) taking care
of sick and hurt cats. They have the ability to mix herbs together
to create potions that are easy to swallow, and that can help
cure many sicknesses. However, unlike Medicine Cats, they
DO NOT recieve signs from their ancestors. They believe
that their ancestors have moved on into the afterlife, and that
they are merely with them in spirit.

~Paws-That-Gallop-In-the-Wind - male
A muddy-gold cat with sharp, blue eyes. He was originally a
Pre-fighter, until he was badly wounded in a fight against some
rouges. He wasn't able to fight anymore. However, he was glad
because he is a pacifist. He was going to be cast into the depths
of the Unknown Valley until he was caught creating a mixture that seemed to lessen the swelling on an infected cut. He
thinks that he will need a Pre-Healer to help him.

Fighters:
At birth, the kits that look either big or obedient (or both) are
choosen to become fighters. They learn to ALWAYS listen
to their mentors, and to defend their camp from invaders.
Fighters patrol the areas of the territory, and form
"mini-camps", small campsites to go to when it becomes too
dark to return to camp.

Fun Fact #1: Paws-that-Gallop-In-the-Wind was choosen to be
a fighter because he was big AND obedient
Fun Fact #2: Ground-Beneath-the-Waters was voted to become
leader for his fenomenal actions in the Battle of Frozen Grass.7

~ Stone-with-Flat-Shape - male
Grey cat with dark purple eyes. Acts
somewhat robotically, follows the rules always, and is skilled at
clawing. The "perfect" soldier.

~Grass-With-Sharp-Edges - female
Tan cat with amber eyes. Skilled at camoflouge. Very nimble and fast. She has a sarcastic personality,
tends to over-protect her kits, and has a twitch.

Mentor of "Wind"

~Eagle-that-Tends-to-Strike - male
Black cat with white paws. Light Blue eyes. Tends not to think
things through before he acts.

Gatherers:
These cats travel down the old twoleg path into twoleg "fields".
There, tasty and healthy food grows in dirt. There is many food,
but they leave almost all of it for the twolegs who worked hard
to grow them. They grab one or two items per hour. They
continue to travel back and forth until sun-down.

~ Fruit-that-Hangs-Down - female
Dark brown cat with lavender eyes. A very nimble, balanced
cat. Uses her balance to grab sweet "fruit" from trees. She is
a sweet cat who has a short temper.

Light Orange cat with green eyes. Very smart and practical, but
is un-coordinated

Black cat with grey eyes. Tough, angry, and strong

Grey cat with dark eyes. Tries to act emotionless, but
sometimes ends up letting out his emotion on his friends.

~Wind - male
White Cat with Amber eyes. Carefree and patient

~Ash - male
Dark gray cat with dark blue eyes. Timid and emotional

~Sun - female
yellow cat with golden eyes. Happy and helpful

~Light - female
grey-brown cat with lavender eyes. Thoughtful, brave, and
easily annoyed

~Tree - female
Brown cat with light green eyes. strong and kind

~Crash - male
Dark Yellow cat with black eyes. Boastful and clumsy

~Burn - male
Orange cat with purple eyes. Easily angered, a loner.

~Prolouge~

The sky was dark as the cat made her way back to camp.
She didn't care. She was still wondering why the other gatherers
disappeared before they could finish. As she walked down the
path, she didn't notice the sleek, black cat limping behind her.

Following her scent.

Hoping, to find shelter.

(yes, it's short, but it is very late right now)

[Rainwhisper]

~Chapter 1~

As I drifted through the empty void, my heart began to race.
Faster than a hawk, diving for its prey, my heart beat.
Boom-boom, boom-boom. The sound of a thousand horses
galloping in a field. I noticed, from a corner of my eye, a shadow
following me. I ran faster and faster, but the shadow just crept
closer. I sprinted as hard as I could. But just then, my paws left
the ground. Gravity fell upon me, as I went spiraling into the abyss.
I let out a yowl, just before I hit the gr-

"Light! Be quiet! Most of us have to get to sleep you know!"
I groggily opened my eyes to see Burn staring at me. He looked
like he hadn't had any sleep for a while.

"Sorry." I muttered, and I fell back into a deep sleep.

And the dream repeated itself.

~Chapter 2~

I awoke to the song of Fern-that-Whispers-In-the-Wind. Her
beautiful voice almost made my headache bearable. I slowly
got out of my moss bed, and stumbled blindly into the Healer
Cave.

Paws-That-Gallop-In-the-Wind looked up. "Oh, hello Light. Are
you going to join the Gatherers today?"

"No. They told me to stay here and learn some fighting
techniques with the Pre-fighters. I was wondering if you
had something for a headache?"

Paws-That-Gallop-In-the-Wind stood up.
"Let's see." He crawled into the small opening in the cavern that
led to the many elixirs. He searched, and smelled for the specific
potion that would cure the ache.

"Ah! Here it is!"
He poured the medicine into a leaf, and beckoned me to drink it.

It was sweet, but still tasted really bad.
As I drank the mixture, I held my breath, hoping that the taste
would go away.

"Thank you!" I chirped, before I rushed off to the Leaf Camp, just
outside of base camp. If I didn't make it there before the sky
turned blue, I would be late, and that wouldn't be a good thing.

As I raced past the Birch Tree in the middle of the path, I thought
I saw a black cat watching me from a bush. But, when I blinked,
the cat was gone.

I didn't waste any more time thinking about the cat, because the
sky was turning blue. I made it into the camp right as the crystal
blue sky erupted into the air above.

I streched, swallowed some saliva, and we all began to "battle".

[Whiteheart]

[Rainwhisper]

~Chapter 3~

I limped into the makeshift medicine cavern. Each "mini" camp, had
1 cat who was good at being a healer, but wasn't one, living there.
they didn't know how to make mixtures, but they used raw herbs
and such to heal their patients.

A Cloud-white cat looked up.
"What happened?" she asked.

"Well, Wind accidentally landed too hard on my leg..."

"Let's take a look at that, shall we?"

She felt my leg, rubbing her paws up and down it.

"I don't think it's broken, but you should probably try to put less
weight on it for a few days. It seems badly bruised."

I nodded. She was a very good "mini" Healer.

"Thank you, I should probably get back to base camp now."

But, she shook her head.

"You are limping right now, you need to rest. We have extra
moss beds in case a cat needs to stay for a day or two. I'll
send a cat to tell Rose-That-Floats-on-Water that you have to
stay here for two days."

"Alright." I hesitantly said.

I limped out of the cave, tripped over the moss bed, landed on it,
and fell asleep.

And the dream, the one I had seen that morning, repeated itself
again, and again, and again.

~Chapter 4~

I woke up in a cold sweat. It was already dawn.

Not listening to a Note's song really gets me confused.

I staggered-limped to the pile of fresh-kill near the oak tree
where my "incident", as Eagle-that-Tends-to-Strike tends
to call it, occurred. I brushed past Wing, and shot him an
angry look. The look of guiltiness made me feel that I had acted too harsh. Sitting across from him, we shared my
very plump, very juicy and very tasty vole, chatting like
we always had done in the middle of the night. Those
days seemed far away, now that I was resting here.

"Well, your leg seems to be a little better. You seem to be
able to put enough weight on it to go home."

It had been three days since I had entered LeafCamp, and
it already had seemed like home.
Swan-that-Gracefully-Bows, who was the "Healer" of
LeafCamp, was very interested that I knew which herbs
were good for what. I had told her that Gatherers needed
to know that in case something went wrong on a hunt.

"Really? I'm supposed to go now?"

She nodded. I smiled, thanked her many times, and rushed
home.

By the time I arrived, the sky had turned blue.

Rose-That-Floats-On-Water looked up.

"Light, nice to see you! Is your leg better?"

I was shocked. A leader was actually talking to me!

"W-well, yeah... It's fine."

"Well, good, because we need one more cat to gather some
food. Do you want to join?"

It would have been only my second time going to the twoleg
field. I quickly nodded, and we set off. I watched the cats
beside me running, including my mentor, who was also
my mother.

"I'm proud that you can keep up with us, with your leg
being hurt and all!" she said.

Fruit-that-Hangs-Down means well, but her comments can
sometimes be taken as an insult.

I take them as both.

[Whiteheart]

I'm sure the others are, but are too gosh darn lazy to post.

[Rainwhisper]

I see... interesting...

~Chapter 5~

As I started to pant, I saw the field up ahead. The rows of
delicious food made my mouth water with wanting.

I turned to my right to see my fellow Pre, Tree smiling. She
had never been there before, because she had fallen from a
ledge as a kit. My sister, tree, had to start her training much
later than I. I wished that she could have started sooner.
When I become a gatherer, she would be the only
Pre-gatherer.

That's pretty sad.

Tree and I watched as the other cats jumped onto the wooden
pole-like objects that the two-legs had placed to keep things
out. Fortunately for us, it gave us a way in.

Tree and I quickly tried to jump onto the "fence", as the
two-legs called it. We both almost lost our balance, and
Tree ended up grasping a bunch of red, juicy berries
while trying to balance herself. None of them were squished.
They looked fresh, and we couldn't wait to show our mentors
what we found.

"Juice-Which-Spills, is this edible?" Tree asked her mentor.

Juice-Which-Spills had a look of amazement in her eyes.

"Those are really rare berries to find in this type of weather!
Normally, we find them in the time when the round red fruit
blossoms into flowers. They even look really fresh! Well done
you two!"

Fruit-that-Hangs-Down walked over, holding my
favorite yellow fruit. I liked sour fruit. It was refreshing, and
I could have a lot, since no one else except Lily liked them.
They were usually used to clean out wounds.

The rest of the day was quickly spent gathering, and
returning to camp to drop off our load. By the end of the
day, we had gathered enough fruit not to gather tomorrow!

I spend the evening sharing the sour-yellow fruit
with Lily.

I couldn't wait to become a Gatherer! Running, fruit, and
almost all the yellow fruit you could eat!

I love being a Pre-Gatherer!
