Starrykit retreated to the shadows of the clearing, hoping, for once that her light silver pelt would blend into the darkness. As Windkit sped by, she reached out her neck and grabbed his scruff, pulling him into hiding.

The two kits cowered in the shadows as the clans fought to defend the future of the clans.
Why had the other kits gone into the forest? They were supposed to stay at the stream. They had made that a rule at the kit gathering they had held.
But someone must have wandered off, bringing everyone else with them.

Starrykit heard a groan behind her. A badger! And it was headed straight for Windkit! "I'm sorry, mother," she mewed under her breath. Starrykit took a deep breath and pushed Windkit out of the way. The badger struck its killing blow, leaving the pale silver tabby kit unmoving on the ground.
OOC:// I'm so pleasant, aren't I?

OOC:// Can we have Starrykit survive? Pretty pleeaasseeeeee? With cherries on top? With an iphone on top? With a coco-choco-late ontop?
BIC:// With rage for his hurt clanmate, Windkit hurled himself at the badger scratching it with fury, biting like he never had before.

OOC:// I have an idea. So we can both be happy, she does die, but she's eventually revived, Ok? BTW, why do you like her so much? BIC:// The badger growled and tried to shake off the tiny kit, but Windkit wouldn't let go.

Windkit let out a wail, and his teeth were dislodged from the badger's scruff. "COME BACK, YOU COWARD!" he shouted in grief for his denmate.

He started to run after him, but was stopped by an apprentice from another clan.
He wept over his fallen littermate. His salty, wet tears, dripped onto her cooling corpse
OOC:// Beautiful, isn't it?

The land was filled with sadness that day.
8 kits had perished.
Two had died from each clan.
Starrykit and Dewkit had been killed in the battle. They would be missed.

-10 moons later-
"What's the matter, Windpaw? Twoleg got your tongue?"
Windkit (WindPAW now, about to become a warrior) was still bitter about that fateful night 10 moons ago. "Starrykit and Dewkit should be with me," he muttered.
"But we ARE with you, mousebrain!" A familiar voice, older now, and edged with laughter and amusement, sounded from the shadows. Two sets of paws could be heard padding towards the assembled cats.

"Wha?"
Windpaw (OOC://Awesome! *squeal*) turned to see two cats, with pelts that looked exactly like Starrykit and Dewkit.
"Star?" he asked.

Starrykit smiled. "We couldn't miss your warrior ceremony, you mousebrain!" she mewed, nuzzling him affectionately.
Dewkit paced up to her littermate. "We're back, brother. That's all that matters."
OOC:// Starrykit is not Windpaw's sister.

OOC:// I knew that.... waait.... is starrykit going to like, come back evil or something? BIC:// All around him, Windpaw could hear screams of joy and surprise. Starrykit's mom, Stormfoot, ran up to Starrykit and nuzzled her like she did moons ago
