Content Protection Policy « Thread Started on Apr 23, 2009, 8:48pm »
From your admins, Frozeneye and Rainwhisper:
This thread has been rewritten to present a more accurate and slightly friendlier warning.
All artwork on this site created by a Staff Member belongs singularly to Woreor Catz. Any artwork on this site created by a member belongs singularly to that member, but we will hold responsibility to protect it. This is a warning to anyone who, intentionally or unwittingly, selfishly uses, unjustly circulates, poorly credits, or steals any work of art that follows the policy below.
1. The artist's signature placed visibly on the drawing. 2. The artist's initials somewhat hidden as part of the drawing.
When we say an artist's "signature" or "initials", we mean that of their member name. For example, Frozeneye's signature would be "Frozeneye" in script, and his initials would be "FE" (FrozenEye). The reason for the signature is so that the artist has proof that the drawing is theirs, and the initials are important because if a plagiarizer PhotoShops the signature out of the artwork, the initials will still be there because they're part of the artwork. We do not have the power to protect artwork that does not follow this policy.
We don't want to have any problems with possession rights, so if we find a stolen work of art from this site, we will ask the thief kindly to get rid of their copy. If they refuse, we will ask again, and again, and if the issue gets too out of hand we WILL consider a lawsuit. A lawsuit is the last thing we would want, but if it is absolutely necessary, we will not hesitate to start one.
So, to sum it up, any act of exploitation, illegal distribution, improper citation, or plagiarism can ultimately result in a lawsuit. We don't mean to scare you, but we WILL protect our rights.
